E28A – Investor KITAS

The Investor KITAS, also known as Izin Tinggal Terbatas is a visa specifically designed for business investors in Indonesia, allowing them to live and manage their business within the country with relative ease. This KITAS is can be issued for 2 years to foreigners who invest in a PT PMA company in Indonesia as a CEO, Commissioner or a shareholder.

FYI (!) The KITAS is valid for a single year and cannot be renewed. To continue your stay in Indonesia, you must close your current KITAS before its expiration, leave the country, and apply for a new one.

Carry out activities related to business, investment, and company establishment.

Serving as a director or commissioner in the company where you have invested.

Study Registered

Study in Indonesia as long as you registered (in multiple activity stay permit procedure).

Travel to and from Indonesia as long as your permit is valid.

Carry out activities related to tourism, and visit friends or family.

Document Requirements

  • Valid Nationality Passport at least 6 (six) months.
  • Proof of living expenses of at least US$ 2,000 (two thousand US Dollars) or equivalent.
  • Latest color photograph.
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Travel Itinerary
  • Evidence of share ownership of at least Rp10,000,000,000.00 (ten billion rupiah) or equivalent in the guarantor company listed in the Ministry of Investment / Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board.
  • Ministry of Law and Human Rights Decree regarding the legalization of the establishment the company.
  • Company current account for the last 2 (two) months.

  • You are prohibited from doing work that is not in accordance with the residence permit.

An Investor KITAS offers many benefits, including the ability to freely travel in and out of Indonesia, open a bank account, legally invest, and receive dividends at a favorable tax rate. Your spouse and children under 17 can also join you. After 4 years with the same PT PMA, you can apply for a KITAP, granting 5-year residency.
While holding an Investor ITAS will provide you with plenty of new opportunities, it is important to mention that it is not a work permit and doesn’t allow you to work in Indonesia. Only Directors of PT PMAs can work within their companies, and they should only do tasks related to their role, such as attending meetings with the bank, notaries, accountants and signing contracts.
